After serving in the Vietnam War, my grandfather, George Shave Jr., founded George Shave & Associates in the 1970s. The firm worked with financial professionals across the country, helping them understand and offer fixed annuity solutions to their clients.
In 1997, my father, David Shave, and my uncle, George Shave III, took over the family business and rebranded it as SFG Annuity Advisors.
In 2015, I entered the financial services industry and became the third generation of the Shave family to work in the annuity business. Growing up around the industry gave me a firsthand understanding of how valuable annuities can be, but it also showed me how difficult it can be for the average consumer to find clear, straightforward information.
